I had never heard of Kelly Minter, and honestly wasn't expecting much out of this little workbook. Most reviews were good, but there was one that accused it of being shallow, and as a skeptic, I secretly wondered if it was going to be a boring exercise of fluff and shallow ideals. I'm SO glad I still gave it a chance! Yes, I've read 1,2 and 3 John many times, but I had never considered these little books this deeply...or realized there were so many hidden treasures to mine out of them. This was an excellent, thought-provoking Bible study that was very sound and dared to challenge us too work a little for the reward. I've done quite a few studies over the years, but this is one of my very top favorites now. Kelly had a refreshing way of looking at the Scriptures that was able to bring them to life as if you were almost experiencing the story in person. I was able to glimpse the passion of John...and the reason he was able to speak so to the recipients. He had earned their love by taking time for a real relationship with them...he was talking to them, heart to heart, as opposed to speaking down at them, condescendingly.I dislike busywork as much as the next person, and I'm not much for inanely filling in blanks. I struggle with procrastination, too, like the average bird! However, if I skipped a day here or there, I wouldn't just forget it and move on, I was compelled to go back and finish it because it was really just that good.Now that I know what I know, I hope to check out some more of her books.Thank you, Kelly, for pushing me to study harder. <3 I appreciate you being real, yet striving for more!

Great study. It's the first I've done from this author and found it easy to follow. Our women's group did this along with the corresponding videos. She's the kind of speaker and writer that you'd want to invite over coffee. Very easy to listen to and to read... (she writes much the same way she speaks which is great!) It's a good study for a range of maturity along the journey of faith, but is definitely good for those who are still getting their feet wet. Studying John is always good for all those on the path of the faith. I loved that she included recipes scattered throughout the book. It contributed to making the book quite inviting!

Great study! I read this book with my women's bible study group and we loved it. Each chapter had passages for us to look up and apply to our daily lives. Kelly Minter is a very relatable writer and she added a personal story to each section of the book. We read one chapter a week which meant doing an hour plus of reading each week. I especially loved the fact that there were yummy recipes for us to try. Our group had a big potluck once we finished the book. I definitely recommend this book especially for a women's bible study group.

Ms. Minter has blessed the Christian Community with a fresh take on a little studied section of God's Word. The books of 1, 2, and 3 John are short and sweet, but somewhat challenging...like facing a journey through the wilderness. When taking on such a task, we are always better off with a guide, a teacher who will lay out each step simply and carefully, with all the love and admiration they would show their best friend. Kelly's subtle sense of humor and soothing voice makes the video portion of the study engaging and delightful, while the workbook and daily study is filled with helpful tools to understand The apostle John's occasionally challenging language. An added bonus are the recipes included after each week's studies! When I think of this study and Kelly Minter, I think of being refreshed not only in God's Word, but in Kelly's presentation of it. If you are looking for an in depth study, but need a little quieter, calmer and sweeter approach, Kelly's your girl.

I have done my share of Bible studies but man this is a hard to follow study and she comments about John having ADHD. Offta. There is a lot of good material here but you need to be a intellect junkie to stay in it. We had over 20 people start this study and few remained through week 2 actually reading the study. Even the definitions that were given were hard to understand.If you do this study make sure you have a very experienced teacher. There is some good stuff in here but hard to get the average person to participate

Our study group is in the middle of this study on I-2-3 John. Kelly has done a very good job of captivating everyone with her wisdom in sharing the truth of God's word. We are all appreciating the study and would highly recommend it. Because of our limited time, we do each week's session over a period of two weeks -- DVD one week; discussion and study the next. It has worked out well.

This an excellent study of these 3 epistles. Kelly Minter gives examples people, especially women, can easily relate to. She has also dug into the Greek meanings to deepen our understanding of such words as "know," "love," and "remain." It is one of the best studies I have done on 1,2, & 3 John. The videos are good, too.....not too long & not too short.

The content of the product is professional, inspiring and life changing. Kelly Minter's heart and soul truly testify the love Jesus has for all people.The physical product is defective. I discovered this product was defective after the Amazon policy allows returns. There are 7 sessions on 2 disks. The 4th session is on the first disk, but ends before the end of the session. The labels on the disks are not the same as the content, which is also confusing. I ordered a second set of the DVDs hoping that only the first set was defective, but that was not the case. I am returning the second set within the Amazon 30-day return policy. I am disappointed that there's no recourse to return the first defective product, or exchange it for one that is in working order. Selling defective products is not acceptable.

This book is thick but its VERY thorough!!! It is an EXCELLENT resource to use when preparing for the HESI exam, especially if you've been out of school for a little while. The lessons are detailed and give very precise explanations along with offering sample questions for each topic that is covered to ensure that you're understanding what you're reading as you go (instead of waiting to the end and trying to answer practice questions over the entire section). I suggest starting this book as early as possible!!! Like 30 days from when you'll actually be taking the HESI exam. Also, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE VOCABULARY section! I made flashcards for all the words I didn't know and reviewed them each day for 7 days! On the HESI exam I knew most of the words that were asked in that particular section earning a 96% for Vocabulary! Overall my composite HESI score was a 93.6%! This book provides you with everything that you'll need to know to ACE your exam. Be sure to allow yourself sufficient time to review each concept, complete the sample questions and the 3 practice tests! Overall, this is the ONLY book you'll ever need to purchase when preparing for the HESI exam. Don't procrastinate though!!!! Start studying NOW! Good Luck!

This is a great tool so far. I haven't taken the exam yet, but it appears to be very thorough. However, there is one major flaw that I have found (only so far) that makes this a two-star product. In the section covering the anatomy and physiology of the heart, it states in an answer to a review question that the left ventricle pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs. Anyone that has taken basic anatomy knows that this is incorrect. Lots of students rely on this tool to study for a very important exam. A detail like this should not be overlooked and is the sole reason (so far) for this poor review. I did not pay for inaccurate information. I will update my review based on how I feel it prepared me for the HESI A2 exam.

Before I purchased this study guide I read reviews online that said this book would be instrumental in helping make a good score on the HESI for the nursing entrance exam. I have just received the study guide and only skimmed through it but the material looks pretty good. I will let you guys know how it goes in the future.

I’ve never been so well prepped for an exam. It gives you all of the information you need to know for the exam without any fillers! Easy to understand diagrams and instructions. I highly recommend this book for anyone taking the HESI A2 EXAM.

This book has been wonderful in helping me to come back up to speed on subjects I learned ages ago. I am so happy I decided to give this study guide a try.

Very informative

To say my A&P is a little rusty is an unfortunate understatement. This little book is a concise overview that still managed to pack in a ton of info! I read each section I will be tested on And immediately took the practice tests. This was enormously helpful as it showed me exactly where I needed to focus my additional study time ( Hello, endocrine systen!) I feel this book was well worth what I paid for it and an feeling very confident about the taking the actual HESI in 2 weeks. I'll update this review when I get my text results back!

This book is really elementary and should only be for first timer Fidget Spinners. My son laughed at the suggestions in the book, because they are so easy. If you are looking for something fun and new to do, look elsewhere.

My Grandson will love this book!

For the most part I was thinking that fidget pinners would be nothing but a short-lived fad. Wrong, really wrong because, like the Duncan yo-yo, they’re obviously here to stay. There’s a bit more to the fidget spinner than simple stress relief or entertainment. David King can certainly attest to that because he’s come up with a pile of entertaining tricks and activities that make me want to toss the single Spinner I have and buy a few more. According to him, “there are hundreds, thousands, maybe millions of fidget spinner designs out there.”I had no clue that these toys even had a story behind them and, in fact, have “been around in different forms since 1993.” Pogs I was familiar with, spinners, no. Back to those designs. Among the many discussed in this book there are spinners aplenty: The Tri, the Bi-Win, the Hex, the Quad, the Wheel, the Mini, the Fidget Cube, the Fidget Pad, the Fidget Flip, and the one I got in the Dollar Store. Well, skip that one because it’s not in here. There’s also a page of some ultra-cool fidget spinners in the “Hall of Fame.”This book is packed with some good-to know information I never knew. King starts off by describing how spinners are made and how they work. He explains that they are “actually little machines with a whole lot of physics behind them.” A word to the wise is in one sidebar and that’s the fact that fidget spinners shouldn’t be “distracting to other’s in a classroom.” The fun really begins when learning how to do some amazing tricks ... at home. I truly (and I mean I truly) enjoyed this book. There were so many things I learned while reading about the author’s childhood, his personal insecurities leading to the cycle of addiction, the battles (physical, mental, and spiritual) that he and so many others dealing with a similar story had to endure, and just what every family has to go through when a loved one is battling with addiction.As an IMC/ICU nurse, my heart always ached for my patients dealing with addiction. This book was able to give me a clear perspective of the struggles my patients faced after being admitted into a rehabilitation center. Likewise, a lot of my questions were answered about their road to recovery and I have a new understanding of how in depth their healing process should be. Overall, this book gave me motivation to be a part of the cycle of breaking the bondages of addiction, first as a medical professional and secondly, as a spiritual covering.Jacob, thank you for sharing your story! We lost our dog suddenly. Told our 3 yearOld the dog left this for her.It has really helped

I was introduced to Dog Heaven by a friend who gifted me with a copy after the passing of my beloved dog, Wolfgang. I have since given many copies to friends who have, unfortunately, experienced the same loss because it touches you deeply and even though it brings a tear to the eye, the ache is lessened. I now keep several copies on hand because in doing canine rescue, loss of a best friend is always a risk and Rylant's book is the best way I know to show compassion to dog owners. Cat Heaven is also a wonderful book and I strongly recommend them both.

This was a cute book, but had a few issues my 6 and 4 year old picked up on. First, God in this book looks nothing like the typical everyday depiction. In fact, he almost looks like the pringles guy (white hair, glasses )! My kids were VERY confused by this. Also, now this may be an "our family" thing, but I always told my kids that animals go to the same heaven as we do. In this book they talk about how pets go to separate heaven. My kids were not happy about that and in fact made them more upset about our dog dying because now they think we are never seeing him again! I should of read the book first.

My parents used to read this to me as a child, and getting to give it to a friend was so meaningful. It made me cry to re-read especially after the loss of my dog back in 2016. It may not be the best book if you aren't comfortable with usage and imagery of "God" but even as someone who isn't religious, I find this book beautiful, loving, and definitely memorable.

I got this book 3 weeks after my pug, Dinner, crossed the Bridge. It's simple and comforting. It made me smile and feel better knowing my Dinner is happy. Highly recommend this sweet book.

I loathed this book. It takes the devastating experience of a child loosing a pet and turns it into something silly and superficial. The child is mourning, but hey, it’s OK because the pet is having such a great time in heaven. If you actually want to comfort a child I strongly recommend Mr. Roger’s “When a Pet Dies”. For less then half the price, his book focuses on the child’s loss, helping them understand the inevitability of death, mourning the loss, and that they will get through it and be happy again.

I bought this book for our adult kids and their family, as they lost their 10 yr old Lab . I read it out loud to my husband so we could hear how the little ones would hear it when momma read it. It made me cry tears of joy, and little chills of their beloved dog was now in Heaven, with God, where he belongs. Such a happy little book for a very sad time. I picked it for it's cover, and it did not disappoint.

This book has been read many times with my 6 year old daughter. Our dog passed away in September, and she still asks to read it with me 6 months later. It's a light hearted book. But it has sweet, colorful illustrations inside. If you don't want any references to God and Heaven, then this may not be your book. It's not super heavy with religion, but wanted to add that into my review. I am thinking of donating a copy of this book to our vet's office to loan out for other families grieving the loss of their dog.

This book is definitely full of fun and generally safe projects that go boom. To start the science is very interesting and well explained. The builds very in difficulty and are well documented and the instructions are easy to follow. If your looking for a good bang this will definitely be able to get you there.

  I bought this book for my 6th grader nephew for Christmas. All the men (ages 12-55) spent time that Christmas day looking through the book and dreaming about making one of the projects! I also bought my nephew the stuff to build one of the projects -- the water rocket. He built it a few days later with the help of his grandpa and enjoyed it quite a bit. I only gave it four stars instead of five because I think all of the projects will require an adult to work with him and also require tools that not everyone may have. The parts lists are kind of long too, although some folks will have a lot of the stuff just lying around if they do a lot of home improvement stuff. So if someone in your family is "handy" and willing to help out a kid with the projects, it's a great gift and teaches lots of science, physics, mechanics.

The most impressive book I've seen of it's type. The projects in it are mostly inexpensive to put together and require few special skills for great results. Caution is recommended when building projectile weapons of course, but if you've got a teen or a husband who loves these sort of things, they will find something they want to try in here. My favorite projects are the tennis ball mortars and the paper match rockets. The mortars because the section explains the difference between mortars and cannons and the project itself is a wonderful hands-on experiment for trajectory and how gravity effects it. The paper match rocket is minimal supplies and easy to put together and shows how a struck match creates energy in the form of heat which launches the miniature rocket.The science behind each project is well explained, and there is a lot of history about the scientists who came up with some of the most pivotal theories about physics and how they tested them.Recommended with adult supervision for middle school and high school children. It's not deeply technical and it's very accessible even for teens who aren't really interested in science.Also recommended for husbands who like to build things that go boom and are interested in science.

I'm not sure about this book? My son and I did a few projects or at least tried to without much luck. There's one project that requires 120V, this isn't for kids. If you're using 120V in a project you better know what you're doing.

Received within a few days. The book is made well. Decent paper,type is clear, big, and double spaced. Good illustrations. The author clearly enjoys his projects. Easy (too easy; must concentrate not to skip over) reading with safety and history injected. Each project is clearly defined, including background, material lists, sources, resources, tips, and the sciences & history applied. The book is written for those that don't have a clue. Though I've done most of this in my youth without the step by step instructions with no ill effects, it's good using the authors protocols with my grandson.

This book is all that it promises and more. It is a terrifically fun way to learn science! All instructions are there, hints for the most fun, safety, etc. The projects are definitely dangerous alone, so adult assistance is required for anyone under 18 who wants to tackle these projects. However, they are a terrific bonding event for parents and children! We home school and this was hands-on science at its best--lots of fun, unlike labs where you just watch pill bugs who (for whatever reason) don't behave the way they are "supposed to" for the experiment, etc. These projects produce results and better yet teach at the same time. Kids (and parents) will find reasons to learn more about chemistry, physics, etc. And, it will be fun as the research will again have hands-on applications. The projects make you feel like you are Benjamin Franklin in the thunderstorm with your kite and key...(for a correction on that historical event, check out a history book)!

This one is a classic. Every adolescent boy needs this book. It's mischievous fun with some learning thrown in. Both of my boys loved the experiments. The potato cannon is the granddaddy of them all. They're in their 20's now and still have them. I just gave a copy to our 10 year old nephew. Hope he likes it as much too.

Bought this for m nephews 13th birthday, and he loved it! In fact, he said he had been looking at the book on Amazon hoping to get it someday.I enjoyed reading through the book a bit before giving it to my nephew. I really liked that there were trouble shooting tips included for each project. Looks like a book that helps you think through the processes instead of just telling you how to do it.

I was not impressed and some of the instructions were not very clear and the supplies list do not specify exactly what piece is needed.
