Bought the whole series for my 4 year old granddaughter and she loves them. We read them over and over!

Someone recommended this book, which is why I purchased it. My 3-year-old grandson has no interest in it (I'm not sure I've read the whole book to him once while he has many books that we read over and over).

This is a fantastic book. My 2yr loves it. Its almost impossible to find story books that count to 100 and this book does it so well. My daughter is now counting into the 70s and I attribute that to this book. If you are willing to read this book over and over to your kids desire, its a great learning tool

We have read this book every night since it has arrived. I would recommend the other 5 little monkey books, they are all great for small children.

About the Author

Rashid A. Buttar, DO, FAAPM, FACAM, FAAIM, is a graduate of the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, College of Medicine and Surgery. He trained in General Surgery and Emergency Medicine and served as Brigade Surgeon and Director of Emergency Medicine while serving in the U.S. Army. Dr. Buttar is board certified in Clinical Metal Toxicology, Preventive Medicine, is board eligible in Emergency Medicine and has achieved fellowship status in three separate medical societies. He is the medical director for Advanced Concepts in Medicine, the Center for Advanced Medicine in Charlotte, NC, a clinic specializing in treating patients with cancer and heart disease refractory to conventional medical treatments. He also serves as Director of Clinical Research and Development for VSAB Medical Labs where he is extensively involved in polypeptide research and development of innovative drug delivery mechanisms. Dr. Buttar has lectured worldwide to physicians and has been featured in national and international news media including TV, radio and newspaper. He has testified in front of the North Carolina State Congress as well as the US Congressional SubCommittee on Human Rights and Wellness at the federal level and continues to serve as faculty to teach conventional medical courses such as Advanced Trauma Life Support, PALS and ACLS. This book is my FAVORITE health book ever!!!! I'm a natural health practitioner, and I've never found a health book that says so much of what I tell my clients.... and he has done the research to back it up. I recommend it to all my clients. His passion for helping both his clients and his previously autistic son is evident throughout. He doesn't just go with what mainstream medicine offers, but focuses on what actually brings health to people, and for that I'd have to also call him quite courageous.Dr Buttar offers so much practical helpful advice for maintaining one's health. Each of his 9 steps is well supported with research and references. The stories he includes about his clients to illustrate each of his steps are very well written, both interesting and engaging, and VERY inspiring..... makes me want to exercise and drink water among other things.I love that he's set up a book owners reference website where I can go find additional and updated information. I had a little trouble getting set up with it initially, but perseverance finally worked, so don't give up. And through owning this book I have access to a free audio series of Medical Secrets.

Excellent, straightforward and superbly-articulated reference book that offers many excellent resource and affirmations that can greatly benefit everyone. Don't wait until you are sick to read this book and to research Dr. Butler's website. I've read and researched many books and resources since I am on the cancer healing journey - I find this book and site to be one of my top and favorites! :)

This book has set me on a path to heal myself. I have had 14 surgeries for one thing and another and am so tired of being tired and unhealthy. I turn allergic to one prescription after another and have searched for a better way to deal with all my issues. I believe I found the answer within the pages of this book. Enjoyed this book and it has me drinking more water than I ever did before for my health. Also, way more info on other health concerns. When I found out that the FDA was going after this doctor. I knew he was good & had to have his book. Big Pharma is always behind the FDA when they go after doctors. After all you get health and they lose money.

A lot of redundancy, I assume to get the points across. I am a nurse, by profession, but always open to more natural ways of combating health issues. I am going to implement his strategies in my own life, to see where they lead. I am particularly interested in his proprietary formula to get the thyroid, adrenal, pituitary triad back in sync.

If you want to take back your health from your doctor, you need to get this book. Your doctor doesn't care about you but only cares about making money to pay off his medical school debt, which the AMA enslaves him/her. People have been healing their bodies for thousands of years naturally without Western Medicine. Western Medicine (Modern medicine) kills over 900,000 people every year just in the US (what about all the other countries who use modern medicine) from people taking "properly" prescribed drugs. These are updated numbers from Dr. Carolyn Dean, who authored "Death by Modern Medicine", which were updated from the Dr. Barbara Starfield Report from the year 2000.Your doctor doesn't want you to know about this book because you soon will no longer be his patient because you would have improved your health without harming your health.

Dr. Buttar has written a very cogent and readable guide on the fundamentals of wellness, how to structure one's way of life to promote health and stave off the causes of disease and illness. His theme is commendable and, for the most part, his advice very common sense and sound, as seen from the perspective of those who have long recognized the need to take responsibilty for our own health. The nine steps he outlines do indeed appear to be clearly stated and fairly comprehensive, and there is much practical advice in these pages.Where I feel his account falls short of the 5th star is in his somewhat heavy-handed treatment of the specifics -- i.e., the tenor of his presentation seems to say "this is the right way and the only right way," based no doubt on his personal knowledge and experience. But in fact there are other, more nuanced approaches to such areas as exercise, diet, and meditation that have proved to be equally or even more effective. I wonder if Buttar has had any significant exposure to the experts of Ayur-Veda for example, which recognizes that there are multiple body types, each with its own set of more specific requirements. For example, Ayur-Vedic kapha types (solid, tend to gain weight easily) may benefit very well from the kind of high-burn exercise regime he advocates, whereas vata types (lght, slender, nervous dispositions) would do much better with yoga, Tai Chi, or just walking. Similarly with diet and other lifestyle considerations. There is no one size fits all in promoting ideal health. Possibly the high incidence of obese patients with all their concomitant problems that plague a modern practice has painted a too monochromatic picture of the state of American health.That said, on the whole his categories and advice are very helpful. It's a powerful presentation for the average reader who has long forgotten, if he or she ever knew, that we make our own health or lack thereof by the way we live our lives.

The author has a plethora of travel stories to share with the reader, but I’m not sure this should be read cover to cover like I did. It is more a guide, a coffee table book and the book blurb describes it well as “bite-sized narratives and on-the-ground travel advice.” The photos inside are exceptional as well, and add to the sense of place. The narratives do have good descriptions of the diverse places this book takes you, but the stories didn’t move me, didn’t have a beginning, middle, and end to truly allow me to sit back and be carried along into armchair travels.Perhaps that is not the point of the book however, and it is full of practical advice for planning similar trips to those that O’Hare has done. While I would have liked a lot more engaging storytelling, Searching for Unique is good for flipping through and learning about some new places to travel and travel experiences to perhaps try out yourself.

Again, Nancy O'Hare takes her readers to little-visited, often ignored places round the globe. Each essay is short, giving a glimpse of what the traveler will find, just enough to whet one’s appetite. In this volume, most of her destinations are Asian, and, for me, they were all new. Her books are particularly valuable because they demonstrate that travelers need not be captives of travel agencies and their itineraries. She confirms my thought that there are few, if any, places on earth one cannot visit, given sufficient will and resources.

While this book is good, it fell short of my expectations. I was interested in reading about the innovations of a larger swath of deviants who are often neglected by society. And I did enjoy reading about the entrepreneurial attributes of the Somalian pilots, criminal offenders, and gang leaders. However, I was a bit disappointed that the authors framed the misfit economy through the values and social norms of conventional society. The book seemed to eventually skew towards portraying stories of the typical Ivy League graduate/corporate shill who decided to get a bit edgy. There are already a ton of books/news articles glorifying the rebel businessman, so I was a bit bored by these stories.I also would have been more interested in learning about the practices of "misfits" who aren't on some sort of moralistic quest that we can easily identify as beneficial. I think the book would have been far more intriguing if the authors allowed the readers to wrestle with areas of moral ambiguity rather than attempting to shape every profile to meet society's expectations of morality. I give the book a three because I think these missed opportunities reduced the originality of this work, making this book similar to anything written by Gladwell or any CSR puff piece from corporate America.

This book brings completely different perspective about the way we common people look at certain things, like pirates, underworld, prison system, hackers.extracting a lessons out of these would be great challenge but authors have delicately balanced and with panache brought the feelings on surface.beautifully written, kudos....please keep up.

I wanted to like this book but I just couldn’t get into it. It was boring and I didn’t think there was a lot of useful information in it. If you’re looking for a book similar to Freakonomics or other Interesting ways to look at the economy or society this isn’t the book for that. It was too plain.

Let me first start off by saying that I completely agree with the concepts presented within this book. In the world we live in today, especially in the realm of business and entrepreneurship, it pays to be a misfit, to be different from the pack. I also agree with the presentation of non-unicorn businesses and entrepreneurs. In other words, not nearly as well known nor as affluent. Makes it feel truly attainable by the common person. Each of the anecdotes presented a unique character and they certainly didn't fit the mold. The skeleton was there, it was a great structure for expansion and for plenty of insight to be gained.But after completing it, that isn't quite what I got. For the most part, it seemed like a series of bland stories that were either too vague to really push the point, or just were too in unnecessarily in-depth in areas that didn't pertain to the focus of the book. There was very little "good" meat on the bones, and it was honestly disappointing. I would've preferred some more legitimate lessons in creativity. Within the title of the book is "lessons in creativity," and despite the very interesting people and their stories, I really don't feel like I learned any lessons, or at least anything groundbreaking for that matter. Instead of just throwing out these stories, I would've liked some more application. How can we use what these people did/know to succeed in our businesses? I get that there is inference there, but the points should've been explicit.Overall, could've been better. I wasn't too thrilled by it. If you want some real, applicable information, this might not be the book to buy. If you are looking for some stories about some very interesting people and their businesses, then pick it up.

The idea of gleaning the best practices of some of the more exciting subcultures like Pirates, Hackers, Gangsters sounds like a lot of fun. The authors seem to have done a moderate amount of work looking into these people groups and what they came up with was...nothing. They came up with some amusing anecdotes, but very little content leads to greater insight as to why these subcultures thrive.I mean, maybe they thrive because they break the law, while all the rest of us choose to abide by it. Breaking the law is a pretty big barrier to entry.

The book gives an overview of all kind of peoples who dare to differ from mainstream thinking and organizing. What is interesting is the change that takes place in the perception of these mitfits: pirates become national heroes, hackers become the new enterpreneurs.

Started fine, but half way through the end It felt like It was not going anywhere.....Bit it's not bad. Maybe it's just not my type of reading.

The general idea in the book was not new to me, as I've been in this type of innovative environment, but enjoyed reading it. Not only the stories make sense as samples, they also inspire some path to action.

My husband and I both love this calendar. We buy it almost every year. Once in a while we change and we regret/miss it. The pictures are beautiful and I like the size of the squares/days for writing information/appointments on is great.

This is a GREAT calendar if you are a boating fan like my husband and I are. Just enough room to mark all daily appointments in the box for each day of the month. AND, looking at all the different boats is exciting. Have purchased one each year for the last 13+ years and keep them just to look at the boats and dream about owning one of them. Well continue getting one each year. Very colorful too.

This was an amazing series. It took my emotions in every direction. I warn it includes anger and tears! Beautiful writing. Though the theme was familiar of a Genesis family if you know that book well, Ms Higgs takes you so deep into the lives of her characters, she keeps you on the edge of your seat and diverts you enough from the Scriptures to keep you guessing with eager page turning. I look forward to her future books with great eagerness. Recommend this series to all! You won't regret it. It's quite an adventure.

I loved Liz's book "Bookends" so much that as soon as I finished reading it I bought "Mixed Signals" which I also enjoyed. I was expecting the same with "Grace in Thine Eyes". It was obvious that Liz did her research on Scotland, especially on the Isle of Arran, which I found fascinating. However, the story moved so slowly that I found it hard to continue. I finished the book, but do not expect to read any moreof the books in this series.

Liz Curtis Higgs is an excellent researcher and writer. Anyone who particularly likes historically based fiction should purchase the series. I'm fully impressed with the story/history line, character development, social practices/beliefs of the times, and Higgs' writing induces sleep deprived nights in order to finish the book.No spoiling the story, this will make you laugh aloud, cry with agony/happiness. Any reader who does not run the gambit of emotions is simply not involved with the characters. I was involved from the beginning. Enjoy this ending to the Scottish Highland series.PLEASE WRITE SOME MORE ALONG THESE LINES! IRELAND NEXT???

Liz Higgs is one of my favorite Christian authors! She takes Bible characters (and this is a bit of an obscure one) and shows all their flaws and sins (like us) but reminds us how God redeems and takes care of even these flawed people (like us).She doesn't try to "fix" characters who are seemingly not redeemed in the Biblical account either. You must read her end notes in order to really appreciate what she does. I have never been disappointed by any of her books that I have read!

I have loved this last book of the series the most. I really enjoyed reading about the next generation. Liz has really surprised me with this book. In addition to the beautiful descriptions of the surroundings that you can feel in every inch of your body, you get engaged in scenes that will keep you under the spell. Twists and turns in the book will keep you captivated toward the end. I love the way Liz builds love in her characters. There is not too much to the scenes and not too little.I just wish that the ending would have been a bit different, but I understand why Liz did it by connecting the story to the bible.A marvelous book!

i didn't want the story to end. i loved it. It follows in excellence to Liz Curtis Higgs' trilogy of Thorn in My Heart/Fair is the Rose/Whence Comes a Prince. If you've never read her books, now is the time to start. One caution, all of these books' dialogue is in a Scotish accent which i found charming, but i know others have had difficulty getting through that.

I'm sad to see this series come to an end, but was very glad to have read them all! I was happy to get some closure on all the characters' stories (even though you can read Genesis and know the endings. ha ha) and feel like I can trust Liz Curtis Higgs to take care of future stories from the Bible. She doesn't stray from the truth and I really like that about her. She also has made Old Scotland come alive for me. Read this book and love it! It's so good.

I think Liz Curtis Higgs is a great author and I would recommend her books to anyone. However, I did not care for this book as much as her other three from this series. I think it is because there is somewhat of a detachment from the characters in this book. I think Higgs wanted anyone to be able to pick this one up and not feel as though they had to read the other three first. Since I had formed such an attachment to the characters I was a bit disspointed. It was still a decent read regardless.
