I totally enjoyed reading this! It reminds me of the books I read through my teenage years and had that same light and refreshing feel to it! Being heartbroken and lost can feel one of the worst feelings in the world but finding something to turn that around is quite literally a breath of fresh air! Home is supposed to be a haven and thankfully it is! This is exactly what Jessica finds! With it comes the air of mystery that runs through the novel and I love it. All in all the author has outdone himself once again! Great job as always and kudos!

I love this book. I got it and I decided to try out the first chapter or so. Next thing I know I'm 75% done with it and not willing to put it down. "Not just yet" I told myself. Then..I realized, with a jolt of disappointment, it was finished.It's a nice short romance/mystery. It's clean and for all ages; luckily since I AM only twelve.Anyway, Jessica Cole moves from New York to the town she grew up in after her mom died, she and her husband divorced, and she lost her job. Along the way she meets her old friend Claire and old boyfriend Jake. Can she still love Jake? Claire said after Jessica and Jake broke up he had attachment issues. Jess doesn't want to go through another heartbreak. She's not going to risk it, not yet anyway.This book is short (it ended MUCH to fast in my opinion) but sweet. I really can assure you that you won't regret trying it out.

I think giving this book two stars is being generous. It was weird. Doesn't flow. Is this a quasi-mystery? The characters are ALL flawed, strange, not a single normal person. I think you should read this and tell us your opinion. Is it me?

It was such a lovely read! Clean romance with realistic, relatable characters and some added mystery. I loved that the romance wasn’t focused on sex. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a prude, but I like my stories to be deep without wasting momentum on silly sex scenes. I definitely recommend this book to everyone looking for a great romance novel!

After reading Shankar's Fundamentals of Physics last year, I couldn't help but get a feeling of satisfaction upon realizing that, in only a little over 400 pages, I had reviewed the essentials of introductory physics in stunning elegance. I credit that book with giving me an intuitive outlook on physics, something that has come in handy in my upper division physics classes.There's something oddly satisfying about Shankar's writing style and the clear expository manner in which he explains physics. Shankar has a way in which he can explain the essentials of something complicated, without compromising the depth of the subject. Hence, drawing once again on his prodigious skills as a teacher, his Fundamentals of Physics II covers not just the essentials of Electrodynamics and Magnetism, it goes above and beyond to even explain the role of electromagnetism in relativity.Among the other topics included in his masterful book, one can also find a few chapters in optics that contain a nice and neat introduction to the principle of least action. The section on quantum mechanics is very well written, and serves as a very neat introduction to the basic principles of quantum mechanics (for those interested, Shankar wrote another excellent book titled "Principles of Quantum Mechanics." A more advanced text, but worth the read). The mathematics throughout the book is not terribly challenging and will come in handy for future courses.Overall, I am quite satisfied with Shankar's latest entry into the Open Yale course series, as this is a worthy sequel to his previous Fundamentals of Physics textbook. I will be using his new book as a refresher before I take my first serious E&M upper division class at Cal Poly.For anyone who is looking to enhance their physics intuition and knowledge, one can never go wrong with Shankar.Update: Now that I have taken E&M I and E&M II and gotten A's in both classes, I can confidently say that without Shankar was hugely helpful in my understanding of the subject. I will now be taking Quantum Mechanics and (you guessed it) I'll be using Shankar's masterful Quantum Mechanics textbook.

This is a GREAT BOOK!Fundamentals of Physics II contains 3 main topics: Electromagnetism (Ch 1-15), Optics (Ch16-18), and Quantum Mechanics (Ch19-24).Each part is beautifully presented. Dr. Shankar is a great teacher! Some professors (I've had some) know the subject matter deeply but don't know how to teach it. Dr. Shankar has the gift of clearly teaching the subject matter and also unexpectedly throwing in tidbits of dry physics humor, both of which students thrive on. I'm a firm believer that a sense of dry humor, applied to physics, gives learning the added feature of entertainment! Shankar is a master at this!Its fun being able to watch the live classroom teaching on You-Tube from which the book is written. Especially fun is watching Shankar's interaction with his students.A separate website also contains support materials showing problem sets along with problem solutions. Some of the problem sets, however, didn't seem to correspond to the chapters in the book correctly. Nonetheless, a great book overall.

If you’ve attempted the Feynman Lectures on Physics you’ve come to assume a dizzying number unexpected gems of insight will jump out at you that completely change your world view; Shankar’s gems are less disorienting, but really satisfying and his humor is subtle and lots of fun. I believe that, for each volume of the series, a companion volume with a large number of SOLVED problems to go along with the text would be an invaluable addition and push the ratings to five stars for each. The mathematics volume doesn’t really satisfy that need and often takes a little too much for granted with respect to the reader's background. His online lectures are really enjoyable. The Feynman Lectures on Physics, boxed set: The New Millennium EditionBasic Training in Mathematics: A Fitness Program for Science Students

The second book in Dr. Shankar's introduction to Physics. I love this book and the first book in the series. I wish they were around when I was an undergraduate science major. I bought them to review my Physics which was pretty rusty. These books help get me back on track. I'm a nerd so when I say they are both just a plain good read I guess you may want to take that with a grain of salt. Dr. Shankar has a style that makes Physics interesting, approachable, and as I said a good read. Make sure you start with the first volume.

The second volume of Yale Professor Shankar's first-year physics video lectures available on U-Tube, Yale, and elsewhere. Dr. Shankar's theoretical lectures do not include experimental demonstrations that MIT's Walter Lewin was famous for, but he's equally lucid, and also more expert in quantum theory. A great way to review your college physics or learn it for the first time.

Excellent explanations of each topic. Instead of the dry text that has the equations, but little else; this book has extensive explanations of the background physics. When you are done with a chapter, you understand both the underlying physics and the equations. The online lectures are also excellent and follow the book perfectly.

This is a great textbook to read up on physics. There is some expectation that the reader has already seen this material. Great book for a nice review and it has more in depth explanations, as well as pictures to help clarify things.

The introduction to quantum mechanics is worth the price of the book by itself (I have not read the other parts yet). The author is an experimented teacher and it shows. He does not dumb down things one bit and at the same time he does not hide behind opaque mathematical formalism (no bras or kets, no emphasis on operators, etc.).

These Buddhist principles outline the philosophies and attitudes that can hopefully encourage each of us to find a level of loving-kindness for ourselves, and then expand that to those around us - even our perceived enemies.

This book was given to me as a gift when I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at 39 years old. I cannot express how wonderful and comforting this book has been for me. The focus is on living in the present and being comfortable with who you are and where you are right now, while practicing Buddhist principles to achieve the ultimate goal of enlightenment, are practical to everyone in the world. I was raised catholic and am currently agnostic, I would not say this book comes across as religious in any way, and I think it can be enjoyed by anyone who might follow other religious beliefs. Ultimately, being kind to everyone, including yourself, if a message we could all learn to practice daily.

This is about the 5th copy of this book I have purchased because I am unwilling to live without my copy. I consistently reference this when anything I am unwilling to deal with comes up, when my kids need support, anytime I want some supportive words from Ani Pema. A great reference to open and find just what you need. I've read it cover to cover several times over difficult periods of my life. It helps me be with what is so and have compassion for myself and others. Wonderful book.

My mother was critically ill, my husband unemployed, and I was sick from stress. I am not a very religious person in the conventional sense but this book is not conventional religion. I read it while I sat with my mother in hospice and I ordered it for my father to read after her death. Not much can help at times like these but learning to deal with life how it is rather than asking some higher power to save you resonates much better with me and that is what this book is about. It helps you to be compassionate towards others and yourself. I will reread it as I continue to work through my grief and I know it would be a help to anyone even if they are not going through something as life-changing as I am.

I can go through the table of contents and pick a one page chapter to set me back on my feet.

I like it , great item with fast shipping

The book is about testing sensors. It's a dry read for most but it is what it is. I think it was very informative and provided me with more information to help with my diagnosis.

Be aware that this book is only 65 pages. That's not much info for a relatively high cost.The material as presented is useful and clear. This book covers only the actual sensors involved however. It seems to be part of a larger series. For the money, I would look for a more comprehensive book.

Good stuff, very informational, but not for beginners. You have got to know more than how to change your oil and add air to make it through this some-what above average technical jargon. And I mean that in a good way.

I liked the video but Mandy Conception has a tendency to use the word "Actually" and excessive amount of times .

This book gives you an overview of the OBD II components, tells you about them and how to test them.

Not as in-depth as lead to believe. A great elementary or refresher guide.

I read this to my children as part of our homeschool curriculum. My students are kindergarteners and a 3rd grader. All three of them greatly enjoyed it.It is written in a style very similar to the Magic School Bus series. Like those books, there is a main body of text that can be read independently of all the little "extras" (dialog bubbles between the characters, side bars, charts, etc), or you can take the time to read all of the information presented. Either way works well in this book.The illustrations are bright and colorful, and the information is presented in a meaningful, yet easy to understand, manner. After reading this book, there is a sudden interest in archaeology in my house!This is a great, simple introduction. It is certainly not comprehensive, but it serves its purpose as an introductory text well.

GREAT introduction to the subject!! Read it to both age groups in our enrichment program (7-9 and 10-12) and it went over well -- with both groups! I would suggest the younger kids own this text, it is very comprehensive. And if you're looking to build, "Archaeology For Kids" is a good next step.

This series for kids is amazing. My 5 year old knows so much about gravity, Earth space science and now archaeology from this set of books. These books do not shy away from teaching kids about real life information that many books for kids shy away from.

This is a really great book that goes into detail about how archaeological digs are performed, all while making it kid friendly. I can't tell you how many times that my daughter has asked me to read this to her, and for being a technical kids book, that is really saying a lot!

My kids love this book. It is a great read aloud, and it has nice project ideas for expanding their knowledge on archeology with hands on learning. It has beautiful pictures that keeps my kids engaged, and funny lines that keep them entertained while still learning.

I am a Gifted & Talented Resource Teacher and bought this book to supplement my 2nd grade unit on archaeology. HANDS DOWN the best addition I purchased! The pictures are phenomenal in helping students put very new and advanced vocabulary into context. Second graders had a real grasp on what archaeologists do after listening to just this one story. It is so full of information, and yet, reads enough like a story that it's easy for students to follow. You could've heard a pin drop in my classroom while we read that book. They were hooked! I read it aloud as one of the lessons early on in the unit that exposes students to what archaeologists do. For the rest of the unit, I would just remind them of the book, or show one of the diagrams up on my document camera, and they were able to understand and synthesize new information really well! Love, love, LOVE this book! Wish it came with our curriculum in the first place!
